Windsurfing: Brog Wind Direction: S->SWLater Wind Stength: F4....F6Later Surf / Sea State: 0.5m swell Air Temperature: 24 Sea Temperature: 21 Weather: Drizzle->Mostly Clear Max Speed: 30.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 22 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
What a day. The forecasts were wrong. I'd based my day on wind in the
morning and nothing later. I was at Brog and sailing by 10:15. 50% planing,
becoming 75% planing. Dave Lewis was doing his thing, blasting around on
about 9m. I did some OK gybes and helis and started getting a few duck
gybes to work, but my feet are still all wrong....
I stopped for brunch at 12:30, and a chat with those around. Jo, back from
Sardinia on a Cribby course, Phil and Befs...
Then BANG. The wind arrived.... er where did this come from?
Still on 6.5 I did some great speed runs, jumps and stuff. Saw a loop from
Alex - which is rare at Brog. Mike arrives with a 2007 (yes '07!) JP 100
Freestyle. And he's switching between that and his race setup with his 8.5.
He was sailing much bigger than me today. Did a gybe round him when he was
in the water - which is a bit rare.
By 3 I was shagged. So I chatted to Dave the electrician and then went to
derig and call Denise.
Later poor Mike's kit got lifted off the beach and smacked into a
rig-anchor scaffold pole. And was left with a semi-circular dent in his
Slalom board. Owwwwchhhhh! That hurt! (the wallet)
Home to watch Fereder and the footy and a nice dinner from Denise.
